Cheryl A. Buhler is a Litigation Paralegal with Fabian VanCott, and has been providing legal support to attorneys since 2006.  Cheryl provides key support to a variety of Fabian VanCott’s practice groups, and her skills are crucial to our attorneys at each aspect of the litigation process, including pleadings, hearings, appeals, administrative proceedings, and trials.

As our Litigation Paralegal, Cheryl’s skill set and experience involves supporting all aspects of state and federal civil litigation over multiple practice areas, by facilitating attorney/client communications; managing intake and witness interviews; conducting fact and legal research for attorneys; preparing initial drafts for attorney review of pleadings, motions, discovery, affidavits, and correspondence; cite checking; managing discovery/e-discovery, document collection, document review and production of documents; and providing deposition and trial preparation, attendance and support.  Cheryl’s research skills with county recorders and other governmental agencies also make her an indispensable asset to the Real Estate and Energy, Natural Resources, and Environmental practice groups.

Cheryl also assists with on-boarding, orientation, and training for new legal assistants, and acts as our inhouse Westlaw liaison, providing coordination of continuing legal education for Fabian VanCott’s legal professionals. She’s also responsible for keeping the entire firm up to date with respect to daily proceedings initiated in Utah’s District Courts.

Cheryl is member of the Utah State Bar Paralegal Division and a Notary Public for the State of Utah. She has served as a member of the Legal Studies Program Advisory Committee for Salt Lake Community College. Cheryl has been with Fabian VanCott since 2016.
