Lobbying & Legislation

Our Team Helps Clients Navigate The World of Local Legislation.

Fabian VanCott has always been committed to participating in, and supporting, the legislative process — a history that reaches back to the years before Utah was legally admitted as a State.

Fabian VanCott attorneys have served as Governors, Lieutenant Governors, Senators, City Council Members, Planning Commissioners, Outside Counsel, and most every other position within State and Local Government. Our continual involvement in Utah politics, from the time of Brigham Young through today, gives our clients a depth of experience and relationships that few others can provide.

Fabian VanCott’s team of registered lobbyists work closely with our other Practice Groups within the firm to provide a full-breadth of experience and knowledge to address client needs. Over the decades we have helped draft many pieces of legislation, regulatory agency rules and procedures, and helped in both administrative rules and procedures, as well as regulatory education and licensing.

Of course, sometimes the most effective service is preventing poorly drafted or ill-conceived legislation from passing into law. We have helped there too. Occasionally, clients find lobbying to change the existing law is faster, easier, and less expensive than litigating to achieve specific goals. We can advise if that is the case for you.

We maintain the confidentiality of our clients, so we don’t list them by name, but we have for decades advised the entertainment industry. Clients have included the world’s largest online auction site, the world’s largest association of film makers, the world’s largest association of musical artists, the world’s largest association of video games, and the world’s largest brewery company, among many others.
