Mr. Kjar is Of Counsel and works in Fabian VanCott’s Salt Lake City, Utah office. He is an attorney with a broad base of experience and can quickly adapt his skills to solve a wide variety of legal and practical problems. With prior experience as a civil litigator, criminal prosecutor, and municipal attorney, his skillset spans most areas of law.

Mr. Kjar earned his B.S. in Mathematics with a Minor in Physics from the University of Utah in 2003 and his M.A. in Education from Western Governors University in 2006. He received his J.D., Order of the Coif, with Highest Honors, from the University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2012 where he served as Executive Managing Editor for the Utah Law Review and received numerous awards for his research and legal writing skills.

Following law school, Mr. Kjar served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Scott M. Matheson, Jr. of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and Judge Tena Campbell of the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah. He also served as an Extern for Judge Dee Benson and Judge Clark Waddoups of the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah.

He is conversationally adept in Spanish and licensed to practice in Utah. He enjoys rockhounding, video games, Montana, and ceramics.
